New products and Christmas in October

Grandma got some great new products out for you yesterday. Bazzill has released new decorative edge papers that have eyelet holes punched out. They also have released a new line of papers with designs punched out like stars and hearts that you can stitch with fibers, add eyelets to, or just leave plain with paper behind. Be looking for layout and card samples using these papers soon.

Connie also put out yesterday and today new Christmas. The K @ Co. and Making Memories Christmas can be found on end caps. Here is a note on this new holiday stuff. Buy it when you see it if you want it. With so many choices out there for popular holidays and theme we are moving away from reordering the same item. So don't be upset when we don't have an item you saw 2 months ago. This strategy insures that you will always have fresh and new product for your paper crafting and scrapbooking projects.

There is also a cute new animal line out by Creative Imaginations. Not sure if Connie has it out yet. She might get to it tonight.

If you have never attended one of our large workshops you are missing out. We have our annual Christmas workshop scheduled for OCT. 6 th. This 4 hour workshop will provide you a great time at a great value. You will make at least 12 different cards, bags, ornaments, and paper crafting items. All the supplies are included you only need to bring your workshop kit. The class is $30.00 and includes refreshments and door prizes. Samples are in the store to check out but you can take my word for the quality and variety of these projects.

I had a lot of things I thought of during the week to chat on. Can't think of them all now. Oh one was I need ideas for Hall0ween costumes. Not for Sam my 4 yr old, but for Noah my 8 yr old. He is at the age where my ideas aren't so great. I can't stand to spend 30.00 for a junk costume that won't last for an hour nor do I want anything bloody or yucky. Anyone have any brilliant ideas that I can claim????

No one made any comments or had any questions to my last blog. My self esteem by be affected if I don't here from a few of you. So feel free to respond on any topic that you feel moved about.

Martha and more

Finally the new Martha Stewart line by EK Success is out. I already grabbed some of my favorites for my stash at home. Here is what I like the best. Punches many companies have not been manufacturing these like they use to. Even with the Cricut and other die cutting systems it is so nice to be able to punch out quick and easy shapes with your leftovers. I also love that my kids can use these until their fingers are sore without hurting my tools. She has some classic shapes such as maple leaf and scalloped circle as well in her fall/Halloween line she has a great pumpkin, bat, and spider. Speaking of her Fall and Halloween line, love it. I am not the biggest of Halloween fans but these great treats, crafts, and decorations make me want to have a party. You must check out her glitter pumpkin crafts. Sam (my 4 yr old) has been asking me on a daily basis when does he get to use glitter. Every moms worst nightmare. However, this glitter pumpkin is sooooo cute. For all you Crickit owners, there are 18 x 18 card stock and printed papers that are great for you large cuts. I pulled some of these papers to use in my paper craft projects. There is also a ton of baked goods packaging. These adorable boxes and bags are perfect to jazz up the simplest cookie or candy gift. There are also a lot of different craft project kits and ideas. One of the very best gifts I ever got was the year for Christmas my mom gave me a box of craft supplies. My heart was filled with visions of creating endless works of art. I remember thinking how I was going to sell these projects to people at craft shows. I also loved the fact that I had total control of how, when and who got to use these supplies. So think about this when you are planning your Christmas list this year. Another toy to break, game to loose half the pieces, or junk to clutter our house and kids minds. Consider providing your child or family members an opportunity to create and control all that their imaginations will allow. Guess where you can get these supplies. Yeah DL. If you are one of those who need help with this creative collection come see me.
Our Fall Open House is tomorrow Saturday. Do stop by for door prizes, snacks, give aways and of course great sale and specials on scrapbooking and crafts. Hope to see you tomorrow. God Bless You. Karen

Blog # 2 from Karen

I really thought that I would have written more during the week. However, not much that I do or want to do goes as planned. Grandma and I spent all day yesterday in the back room marking items. If you haven't said hi to grandma lately do so. She is responsible for marking almost 90% of the merchandise at DL. At times she does this under protest saying things like, "Did you have to buy so many of these?" and my favorite comment is "Do you really think people are going to buy this?". After this I lovingly reply "No grandma, I bought them because I didn't think that they would sell". Grandma is 87 and works at DL 4 days a week. In her spare time she runs after great grandchildren and mows her own grass. We love her and pray we are as healthy as she at almost 90. But it wouldn't hurt for you to tell her that you love and buy all the "junk" that Karen buys.

Onto the goods:
Reminisce has done it again. We just marked 4 new lines.
1. Live out Loud: a bright whimsical line great for everyday, summer, and playtime photos.
2. Country Kitchen: a French look to this cooking line of papers and stickers, in a black and red print. There is also chicken paper that it just to cute for petting zoo or farm. I forgot to tell Mary about this (she has a farm and chickens) . Oh well she can just read my blog to find out.
3. Milestones: Finally a company that is making specific birthday papers and stickers for those adult milestones. These are very nice they start at 16 and go up to ???? Oops I forgot. I do believe it is 60. If you want to know exactly e-mail the store or better yet come in to check and buy some stuff while your here!!!!
4. Vineyard: For those of you who have developed a taste for the fermented. This line is for you. The papers in this line are Reminisces double sided shimmer so they are beautiful. The papers really could be used for other things cause they are so nice.

K&Co. Two out of the 8 or so new lines came in. Tim Coffey's Halloween line and Brenda Walton's Christmas line called Peppermint Twist. Love them both. The Christmas line won't be out until next week, but the Halloween line is already up on one of the front end caps. You all need to pick up the treat boxes and cones in this line. You get 12 for 5.99 and these are cute!!!
You can't make something this nice for that kind of money. They would be great for school but also to pass out to your coworkers as a little treat. Don't wait on these I only ordered 6 pkg of each style. My mistake should have gotten way more but I didn't want to upset grandma.

Both the Christmas and Halloween Lines have this new product called Rub on magic. I haven't used it yet but my rep from K&Co says you can use them like a tattoo. They are a sticker that you press onto your page peel of the clear overlay and then sprinkle glitter on and it sticks. I think the Christmas ones would be great for the kids Christmas parties. Probably should have ordered way more of these as well.

You will also want to check out the K&Co ornament kits. These are great!! I have already put some of these together. They come in a 12x12 slab. They are pre-cut and punch out. You assemble them and then embellish with ribbon, brads, glitter etc. They cost 15.99 but you get I think over 80 ornaments. We are going to put these together as a family and pass out to teachers, friends, and family this year at Christmas.

Crop in Style has released a new XXL tote. Gorgeous and very sophisticated(thank goodness for spell check). It is their same great open square design but with a trendy print of toile? on the front. It's that old fashion looking fabric. I think it's called toile. If not come in take a look at it and you call it something.

Did I mention that while I am typing this I am watching my two nieces' for Mary. Not so that she can go to DL and work, but so that she can spend the day catching up on her scrapbooks. Even though I am almost 4 years behind. But no bitter feelings!! ha ha ha Jan says now go back and proof read and double check my typing. So I hope there are a few less errors for you to have to weed through. Have a great week and God Bless You!!!! Karen

My first Blogging experiance

Ok you all. I have been drug into the world of technology. I wanted Mary to help me set this up because there is always so much going on here and new products comming in that I nedded a quick way to fill everyone in. (Quick, maybe not, these few sentences have taken almost 5 min. to type. maybe I should do a confrence call instead.) Ok so first my disclaimer. I should not be held responsible for typing and spelling error. I obviously spent way more time in school goofing off and not paying attention. I wonder if I need to date this????? If so today is Friday the 7th of September. Fridays are my days off unless I work the crop so this will be the day I type the most. We also do a lot of our unpacking of new product on Thursdays so I will have that to talk about. Oh I just thought of one more computor thing. I don't know what all those signs and letters mean in computor language so you will all have to write long hand to me or give me a few simple easy lessons. 18 minutes typing so far I hope I get a litter faster or I might have to add a maid and cook to the daisy lane payroll!!! Let me know if you do have questions, comments, or suggestions for me to answer or talk about. If this blog is just me all the time you all might decide to read your spam instead.
Should you use correct grammer and puncuation in a blog? Everytime I hit tab to indent my "linnie" thing goes into another area. Ok enough with my computor handicaps. Onto what is going on at DL.
New Product:
We are working on getting out all of the new Martha items. I have heard some not such exciting responses to her line and her. Well here is my thoughts. As with any line we get in there are things that I love and things I don't. Same with Martha. As for her don't know her but my best guess is that she personally didn't design 80% of this line. But I do think her team did a great job. We wanted to bring this line in because it is not just a scrapbooking line. There are paper projects, baking items, birthday party kits, favors, and general craft supplies. Those of you from Mattoon know what a pain it is that we don't have place to go locally to get these items. Now you do DL. So do come in (give us another 2 weeks ) to take a look at these products and see for yourself.

Sugar loaf Aka Anita's Stamps : oh my What keeps me from stamping many times is the cost of stamps. wood or acrylic is doesn't matter I cringe at 20.00 for 1 item not sure how many times I am going to use it. If you are the same way do come in and take a look at this line. Great stamps, new designs, hot trends, see where you stamp design, and a GREAT PRICE. You can't miss these they are on the end cap west of stamping and are in very colorful.
Storage is great with these as well because they are flat and store in CD like cases. Love them

Sugar Tree (lots of sugar companies) This is a paper only company. They just released a ton of new hunting, fishing and camping papers. Who doesn't want to scrapbook their husbands latest kill!!! Travis(my hubby) spends a dern lot on his hunting gear. He hunts duck and deer for the most part. So I might as well scrap it so that we have something to show for his time and money. It also beats having to hang dead deer and ducks on my walls. So these papers are great. They are also very specific to different game. Which is unusual most papers are hunting general. This would make a nice surprise Christmas gift for the hunter/fisherman in your life.

EK Success: the cutest animal line. These are their Jolee's style stickers. They would be great for zoo pages. They also have captions like with the cheetah "energy to burn" this would just be cute on a page with kids playing.
We also got in new products from Reminise, Sandylion, Creative Imaginations, Scrappin Sprots and More, and a few others that are not coming to mind. Time to go. The laundry and sink full of dishes is talking to me. Talk back to me!!!!

New Items

Karen has gotten in so many new products that we are going Crazy trying to get them all out. Karen will be posting a blog shortly and give you more details.
